History of Maryland Youth Ballet
Established in 1971 by Hortensia Fonseca, a revered figure in classical dance education, Maryland Youth Ballet has nurtured generations of talented performers. Originally located in Kensington, the school moved to its current state-of-the-art facility in downtown Silver Spring in 2009.
The studio’s alumni have gone on to dance with major companies such as the American Ballet Theatre, New York City Ballet, and The Royal Ballet, proving that MYB’s reputation for rigorous training and artistic excellence is truly world-class.
